At the International Thermal Spray Conference (ITSC) in Vancouver, FST proudly introduced its latest innovation: the cGun™. The interest in this new technology exceeded all expectations, reinforcing our belief that the cGun™ is the right solution for advanced thermal spray applications.

What Makes the cGun™ Unique

The cGun™ utilizes cascade torch technology — a proven method that features a cascade anode made up of electrically isolated copper rings, also known as neutrodes. This design brings several key benefits:
• Arc stabilization: The arc movement is restricted to the final anode ring at the nozzle exit, resulting in a more stable process.
• Higher efficiency: With less heat lost to cooling, more energy is available to treat the particles.
• Lower consumption: The cGun™ operates effectively at reduced power levels and with lower secondary gas flow rates.

The cGun™ offers clear advantages over conventional plasma torches:
• Longer Parts Life Time
• High efficiency exceeding 70% (depending on the material)
• Reduced gas consumption, particularly secondary gases
